ABOUT GIO

Gio learned the craft of a true hairdresser at the hands of his father, the owner of a salon in Italy.
After building a solid foundation Gio moved to Paris, where he began teaching techniques and tips at Jean Louis David’s school.

Being in the fashion capital of the world brought him new inspiration and Gio discovered his passion for the industry.

He met Julian and Yannick d’Ys, beginning an apprenticeship that would become a lifelong friendship. Once he’d further enhanced his skill under these legends Gio moved to New York in 1995, and has since established himself as one of the most sought after hairstylists amongst celebrities and photographers around the world. With rare innovation, Gio’s abilities enable him to produce designs for a broad range of artists, genres, and media.

His work is regularly featured in publications such as Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and ELLE through collaborations with highly esteemed photographers including Norman Jean Roy, Ryan McGinley, Petra Collins, Terry Richardson, Karl Lagerfeld, and Jonas Akerlund.

His iconic creations have also captured the eye of Hollywood’s A-List, a few of which include Jessica Alba, Emilia Clarke, Natalia Dyer, Emma Stone, Susan Sarandon, Mandy Moore, Mary-Louise Parker, Michelle Monaghan, and Jessica Lange.
